How Self‑Hypnosis Changed My Life After I Was Diagnosed With a Degenerative Illness

My real story — the diagnoses, the daily fevers, the night on the floor, and the three weeks that changed everything. Told the way I lived it.

They didn’t hand me one diagnosis. They handed me a collection.

First it was fibromyalgia. Then ADHD. Then spondylitis — degenerative, they said, as in: it only goes one way. Then they looked at my brain itself and told me its rhythm was wrong — arrhythmia, epilepsy.

Words that heavy, said that casually. Folder after folder with my name on them.

And with every folder came the same sentence: medication — for life.

I remember the drive home. I remember thinking — is this who I am now? Is this my identity — a list of diagnoses?

And something in me — deeper than the fear — said: no. That’s not me.

The choice I made — and the one thing I’ll never tell you to copy

I never took a single pill. Not one.

And here I have to stop the story and speak to you directly, because I love you and I don’t know your body: that was my choice, made alone, in my biology, and it is the one part of my story I will never tell you to imitate. Medication saves lives every single day. If you are holding a prescription right now, make your decisions with your doctors — never from fear, and never because of somebody else’s story. Not even mine.

What happened next is simply what happened to me.

The fever

The fever came every single day. Every day my body burned, and every night I lay there wondering if I would wake up.

I thought I was going to die.

And I did. Just not the way the folders predicted.

The night on the floor

It happened on the floor.

I was down there crying from the pain — burning with fever, my body giving up, and my heart just as broken as my body, because on top of everything I was living the deepest betrayal of my life. Everything I was had been taken apart. I was dying physically and I knew it.

And there — in the deepest pain I have ever felt — something suddenly clicked.

All of it. At once. Like a veil lifting.

I remembered why I came to this Earth.

I can’t give you that moment in clinical words, and I won’t try. All I can tell you is that the woman crying on that floor stopped asking “why is this happening to me?” and started remembering who she was before all of it. The mission I had carried since I was born — the one I had buried under survival — came back to me on that floor.

I wished someone could do it for me

From that night, I began. Meditation. And hypnosis — I knew that deep, quiet place where the subconscious finally speaks.

But here is the part nobody tells you: when it was my turn, I had no one.

I wish someone could have hypnotized me. It would have been so much easier — to be held, to be guided, to surrender to a voice I trusted.

Instead, I had to learn to take myself under. Self‑hypnosis. The same doorway — but you have to be the one holding the door and walking through it. It is harder. So much harder.

Burning with fever, I did it anyway.

Three weeks

Session after session with myself. Deep theta. No performance, no audience — just me and the body I had been at war with for years.

What I found there wasn’t a “cure.” It was a message. My body had been trying to talk to me for years — through the exhaustion, the fevers, the symptoms, the tension I carried like armor — and I had never once stopped fighting long enough to listen.

“The moment I stopped fighting my body, everything started changing.”

This is what I meant when I said I died. In those weeks, the woman who carried all those folders — the fighter, the survivor, the one who was her diagnoses — she died. I let her go with love. And someone else opened her eyes: the version of me who was allowed to be well.

Three weeks. That is how long it took me to cure what they told me was for life. The fevers stopped. The pain left. When the labs were run again — clear. I read the results three times.

And no — I never went back. You already know what I think about copying my choices: don’t. Your path belongs to you and your doctors. This one was mine.

What I believe happened

Your subconscious runs about 95% of your life — your stress chemistry, your habits, your self‑image, the fight‑or‑flight loop your body marinates in every single day. Most of us are living inside survival programs written before we were nine years old.

Hypnosis is simply the master key to that room. In theta, the guard steps aside — and you can finally speak with the part of you that runs the show.

I don’t sell miracles. I teach nervous systems to stop living in war. What your body does with peace — that is between you and your body.

You don’t have to do it alone like I did

This is why Psynergia exists. I became the person I needed on the worst night of my life. You lie back. You are held. I hold the door.
